VETSECURE TRIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Read these carefully because these Terms and Conditions contain limitations on the coverage we provide you.
INSURING AGREEMENT
We will provide you with four (4) weeks of pet health insurance (the “Vetsecure Program”), free of charge, for your pet dog or cat enrolled in the Vetsecure Program, subject to the coverages and limits, exclusions, and Terms and Conditions below. The Vetsecure Program is provided by Petline Insurance Company. Your Vetsecure Program term (the “Term”) begins and ends on the dates specified in your welcome letter. The Vetsecure Program and the coverages under it are not transferrable. Your Vetsecure Plan coverage is subject to a forty-eight (48) hour waiting period for accidents and a fourteen (14) day waiting period for illness (the “Waiting Period”). The Waiting Period starts at the date and time your Term begins.
WHAT WE WILL COVER (THE COVERAGE)
Veterinary Services: The Vetsecure Program will pay you for eligible expenses incurred during the Term and subject to the exclusions, limitations, and conditions in these Terms and Conditions. Coverage includes veterinary fees charged by licensed veterinarians, costs incurred as a result of hospitalization at veterinary facilities, costs of surgery including anaesthesia, diagnostic procedures and tests required by licensed veterinarians, medication prescribed by licensed veterinarians, nursing services, specialist care that results from a referral made by a licensed veterinarian, and for medical treatment that your pet requires as a direct result of an insured accident or illness during the Term. We reserve the right to restrict eligible expenses in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and to reasonable and customary amounts, which ever is less.
LIMITATIONS OF COVERAGE
We will not cover claims in excess of $500 in the aggregate of all claims made during the Term. We will pay for 80% of covered Veterinary Services, less a per-condition deductible of $100. Your 20% co-insurance will be deducted from eligible costs before your deductible is applied.
WHAT WE WILL NOT COVER (THE EXCLUSIONS)
We do not pay for claims:
- or costs incurred prior to the start of the Term or during the Waiting Period, subject to any other limitations or conditions in these Terms and Conditions;
- not resulting from covered veterinary services incurred in Canada or while travelling on vacation in the United States of America. All claims received in U.S. dollars will be adjusted in Canadian dollars with no exchange (example: $500 USD = $500 CAD);
- if your pet did not receive a comprehensive veterinary examination within the last twelve (12) months;
- if we have not received complete medical records for your pet;

Pre-existing or foreseeable conditions also include any conditions previously treated, whether by a veterinarian, animal shelter, breeder, or other person(s) including the pet owner.
